Contemplation Light

For me, Union Point United Church is a symbol of resilience. The church has served its community for a long time. Headstones in the adjoining cemetery date back to the 19th century. This makes me think about the generations of country folks who found community, care, and inspiration within the walls of this little church.

Highway 75 was built around Union Point United Church. I see this as another sign of its resilience and as a visual reminder for the motorists zooming by. We all need anchors in our lives that help us to focus on what is truly important. We also need quiet places to contemplate. Despite the rumble and rush of passing traffic, Union Point United Church provides a quiet place to stop, exhale, and think about what is most important.
