Backyard Flowers

My wife loves gardening and I love photography. I guess we have a system that works. All of these photographs were taken in our backyard.

I sometimes find flowers a challenging subject to photograph. I'm always cautious of the notion that "flowers are beautiful therefore photographs of flowers are beautiful." That notion can lead to lazy photography. What you see here are my efforts to explore flowers as a subject and go beyond that notion. Flowers are a visual world that I love to explore.
