Corner Post

I may have posted this picture before, but I’ve fallen in love with it all over again. I’ve been rescanning some of my black and white photographs at a higher resolution. The new scans produce detail and tones that I hadn’t seen before in these photographs, so I’ve been excited to work on them and to share them.

This is a grainy photograph, but in this case I think the grain enhances the feel of the photograph. It is a very old fence post that survived the removal of the fence and many years beyond that. Corner posts are important for keeping fences straight and strong. This picture remind me to people who play a similar role in communities and organizations. Through their work and dedication they keep things going, even when others may come and go as their interests ebb and flow.
